  1. Hi,

Could you give me more information about your club? My fiance and I would be interested in lessons. Are lessons available?

  2. Hi. I live in Stewartville. I didn’t know there was a fencing club in Rochester. Is it very active? I fenced a long time ago in high-school.

    Regards,

  3. We have an exchange student coming from Germany who does fencing back home. She arrives in August, 2011 and will be here for the school year. She was wondering about information on a fencing club and if she should bring her own equipment. Can you assist us please?

    1. Jan,

Glad to hear an experienced fencer from a different country interested in fencing in the US. We, Rochester Youth Fencers, offer “MN High School Meet Preparation / Open Fencing” class in the fall through Rochester Community Education program.

Go to http://activenet14.active.com/rochesterce/ -> “View Activities” -> enter “fencing” in “Activity number or Keyword?” and “Go”. It will show you the list of classes in the past. The up-coming classes will be posted in early September when the school year begins. Brochure will also be distributed in the public school system or by mail. But you can always check back to the web site for the latest information.

How old is the student? High school of college student? There are many USFA tournaments and fencing opportunities in the coming year, so ask him/her to bring along the equipment.

Let me know if you have further questions.

      Albert Lee.

    1. Jim,

We have Rochester Youth Fencers, a Fencing club caters for middle and high school students.

We offer Fencing classes for beginner in fall and winter and intermediate in the spring. These classes are advertised and can be registered through the Rochester Community Education program.

Hope to see the student in the fall.

    1. Adult Fencing is on Thursday evening 7-9pm at Hawthrone Education Center, Rochester. Youth Fencing is on Monday evening, same time same place.

Fencing classes are offered through Rochester Community Education program. You can find the current class information from http://activenet14.active.com/rochesterce/

Equipment are provided for the beginner and intermediate classes. You are highly recommended to get your own (inexpensive) gear for your further advancement.

You can post here for any adult Fencing information. For youth Fencing, contact through allee8285.fencing@hotmail.com.

  5. I understand from Community Ed in Rochester that there will not be youth classes again until fall? Can you please put me on a contact list for fall information? I have a 10 and 7 year old who are very interested. Not sure if the 7 year old is old enought though. Thank you for your help! Elsa

    1. Elsa,

All youth Fencing classes are advertised through the Community Education program. Students should get fliers from school. You can also look for class information and registration from http://activenet14.active.com/rochesterce/. Search for “Fencing” or classes held at “Hawthrone Education Ctr”.

The beginner class is not designed for 7 years old, but it does not mean he can not start Fencing. They just need special attention, depends on his interest. If he is REALLY, REALLY interested, contact me separately at allee8285.fencing@hotmail.com.

      Albert Lee.
